Before graduating college with a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Information Design and Corporate Communication from Bentley University in Waltham MA, I was hired by a lady entrepreneur for a startup company, Socialbees Strategy. Over the course of two years, we built a small team to offer Facebook custom development and training for small businesses. We built strategic Facebook business pages and created posting plans to best utilize Facebook for businesses, then trained the companies on how to use the platform to generate sales and great customer service for their companies.

Shortly after Socialbees was sold, I moved on to another small startup WordPress web development team with a colleague called Connect Interactive, LLC. We customized the WordPress platform for small businesses giving them a fully branded, functional site to showcase their talents. Just a side note and to give credit, she designed these sites and I would take the Photoshop files and transform them into coded websites on the WordPress platform, sometimes using plugins and such to enhance functionality.
Some of the clients that I worked on specifically included:
My most recent adventure pulled me into the corporate world, working for McCormick and Company’s IT team. I worked on several of their websites (they own over 30 including many of their child brands), building out Sitecore templates from design files provided by outside marketing firms. While working there, I quickly brushed up on my C# skills and was trained in Sitecore development. About a year into my employment, I was added to a startup team for FlavorPrint, a recommendation engine for recipes and flavors. A team built the API for FlavorPrint and I helped integrate it into many of McCormick’s branded sites. The FlavorPrint team has since become their own company outside of McCormick and Co under the name Vivanda.
